Default Bashkin Build

I have enjoyed watching some of your guitars being built so I thought I would share my experience with you all.

I will keep the pictures coming when I get them

Please do keep the pics coming. Nothing like pics of a Bashkin build to get the G.A.S. flowing. Best of luck on your build. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the finished guitar!

Nice, I bet its going to be a great instrument. Its been a number of years since I played a Bashkin, I think it was 2007 at the Swannanoa Gathering Guitar Week. I remember them having a very warm sound, great for fingerstyle. I bet this instruments are even better now.

it is a Grand Concert Cedar top with a Honduran Mahogany back and Mahogany sides. I wanted to get a fan fret buy couldn’t find it in the budget...Nut is 1.75” and at the bridge 2 5/16”. A little extra space for me at the bridge. Since I will have a K & K duel source put in, it wont matter too much. Not sure on the bindings yet, I think he is going to use African Blackwood. I left some of the choices up to Michael since he has a great eye. I will add my details as I get them.

Not a problem! I live close to Bashkin’s shop (about 40 min’s north) and I might have to check out that wood in person next time I go down that is if you don’t mind, very beautiful.

Mike, that's a beautiful guitar you've got building across the hill from me... so close... but so far away... I can't wait to see it finished!

If you do I would greatly appreciate a pic of the wood "in the flesh" so to speak as well as your impression ...if that's not too much to ask. Darn, I hate living so far away
