- That's a gorgeous instrument and the story of the wood makes it very intriguing and unique, congratulations and I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing it when it's done!

Wooow what a hauntingly beautiful sound this guit gives although the story behind the wood is kinda scary. Best guitar sound I have heard online.

Every time we get a Petros in we wonder if it will live up to the last one. Every time it's somehow even better. Our quilted sapele/engelmann FS arrived a couple of days ago and it's hauntingly good.

Geez Dave. That's some fine looking wood even in it's raw form (the walnut, not that huge hunk of uncut, burnt redwood). And the recording of the Tunnel 13 is one of the finest recorded guitar tones that I can remember.

I've only played one Petros, at Rudy's in NYC. It has always stuck with me as one of the nicest instruments I've ever played; wonderful in every way. Congratulations on your purchase!

That's great to hear Michael, I own a Petros and have been wondering the same thing... Bet that FS is a looker... I'll check your site for pics...

Thanks everyone for all the comments, this is my first build thread and it's become a lot of fun.... The GAS this forum produces is probably the reason I am actually doing this... All the years of reading build threads has inspired me...

Me too, actually. That was first and only Petros I've ever played and it was easily the best guitar I have ever played. I wonder if we played the same one...?

Congratulations!

Part of my love of Martins is the Americana behind the company and the Tunnel 13 is loaded with "Americana". Only heard Petros on Maury's Guitar website and they sound might fine. A Tunnel 13 could be very tempting to me.......

Will check out more of the audios tonight on my home system.
