Default Collings and Carr at Gryphon

I went with two friends who were consigning instruments for sale. I played three different Collings 290 models. This one had the magic.

Played through the Carr, I found a killer combo I would love to have.

Carr makes wonderful amps. I have had a 2x10 Rambler for a few years. Probably the only amp I'll ever need.

I own an SG, Melody Maker, Les Paul Jr., two PRS, a Tele, Three Strats, but I have to say the Collings kicks their respective *****.

I recently went for a splurge and picked up Collings i30lc with the slim neck. Awesome guitar.
When I got it home I wasn't happy with my amp so it naturally lead me to check things out and I now have a Tone King Falcon Grande which sounds amazing to my ears.

I have to say I found the stock neck on the i30 a little chunky for my taste when I tried one although still nice. The lower profile one is perfect.

I haven't had mine for all that long but I can say I don't have any regrets so far in going this way and I already had a pretty nice guitar and decent amp before hand.

I play stereo through two Carr Skylark amps. Great amps.
