Yikes! That’s almost intimidating lol. Grandpa always said, “there’s no trailer hitch on a hearse”

I just finished cleaning, tweaking setups, and stringing the rest of mine. Three in a row, and one yesterday leaves me feeling as if I have too many (although we all know that’s never true lol). And, I actually LIKE getting guitars cleaned up and stage ready.

I was finally able to get a family pic of all of the kids together. You know how they can be...,”don’t touch me, Dad, he’s touching me”. So, it’s been a rare photo op lol.

The keep asking me who’s the favorite. I just tell each of them that they are. It keeps the peace.

Sorry for the poor picture. Couldn’t get outside here today due to the freezing rain.

Love the group pic - needs a '62 Country Gent and a White Falcon...

Get behind me Satan! (I kid, I kid).

I’d actually love a Country Gent, but would prefer the Black Falcon, or a Gretsch G6136T-59 Limited Edition Falcon in Lake Placid Blue.

I also need a 5420T in Fairlane Blue, a 5620T-CB in Red Sparkle (very hard to find. There was one in Canada but, the lady didn’t want to deal with importing to the US due to the rosewood board), a 6120 Nashville, and the lower end but highly intriguing G2622T Streamliner in Riviera Blue.

I’m sure there’s more...my brain just had a Gretsch meltdown.

Congrats on your new Gretsch it looks beautiful.
Maybe one day I'll stump up for a Japanese model myself.

Thank you. The more I play it the more I love it. And, while I wouldn’t say there are hugely obvious differences between it and my Korean models, there are subtle things that stand out. I’m very pleased with this Pro series addition.

I am also appreciative of the Korean mades quality and features (those with Blacktops or Hi’Lo’s and rosewood boards especially).

I still can’t figure out what took me so long to realize how great Gretsch guitars are. Maybe it was a misconception/stereotype that they were more Rockabilly than rock. Boy, what a misconception.

The TV Jones Powertron pickups produce some very tasty rock/hard rock tones.

FWIW, I don’t think anyone could go wrong with at least one Gretsch guitar in their stable. And, while I’m sure there are some to avoid, most that I’ve had the privilege of playing would be welcome in my arsenal anytime.

Beautiful Duo-Jet, you'll love the way they sound.
I have several late model Gretsch's, the MIJ broadcaster sounds the best. I have a Setzer Hot Rod, sounds just like Setzer! (1/3 the speed)

Thank you! Yes I’m quite taken with the TV Jones. Although, I still really love the Blacktops and Hi’Lo’s as well. But the PowerTrons seem more focused. Definitely more midrange pushed...but hot! They respond very well to being overdriven (Crowther Hotcake through an AC15 W/Greenback), but LOVE to be pushed with my Rat.

It’s just a superb guitar all the way around. Thanks for the compliments. I’d love to see your Gretsch(s)...if you’d care to post pics.
