Made a pick guard for the Halcyon. I always liked the shape they used on the Kalamazoo KG's so....

Neat ! I hate to say it and hope I don't offend, but it gives it a bit of a Taylor style.

Pick guard looks good, Norm!
When Ed gets to mine I'm going with a slightly different style that was used on L-00 model and have him put it on. I've bought one from Luthier's Mercantile since I don't trust myself to make one.

But I like the the ones used on the KG's as well!

Taylor, really? Now I think it has to come off.

Just a heads up. If you bought the Tortis L-00 from LMII, the radius cut is huge and will be quite a bit larger than the outer rosette on Ed's NL-00. Unless you already discussed that with Ed.

I considered purchasing one of those before but the pdf template doesn't even match up on a Gibson L-00.

Yeah, I have faith in Ed making it fit. If not, Plan B.

I never doubted your ability to modify a pickguard. Print out the template. You'll see what I mean. Even after the radius is modified, it won't look right. Their template is wrong. I only say this because I've tried it on a Loar L-00 copy with the actual pick guard from LMII.

That is what I sent to Ed. If it can't work, I won't stress. I'll just consult with Ed and go with something else.

Question Question for Ed

Ed, of all the Halcyon guitars you've built so far, which one were you most bummed to let go of (that you wish you could have kept and played yourself)?

I just take satisfaction knowing that one day, just maybe, I'll be able to build one for myself...
