How to tighten a loose endpin
New used guitar I bouhgt is great except for a loose end pin, not sure the best way to make it tighter? This is a Lowden F-35

Is the endpin in that guitar a press-in job like Martin? If so I’d use superglue to thicken the pin, smooth the result if necessary - and you have a non invasive, safe fix.

That and a dot of Titebond. Nobody needs an endpin to go walkabout when it's anchoring (more or less) a strap.

A piece of masking tape.

Endpin or jack? If it's an output jack we had a good discussion about this last week.
If it's a tapered endpin the previous suggestions are all good. I'll add trying some powdered rosin sprinkled on the jack, then insert and twist. |

Simplest fix for me, when it works, is to dampen the pin and let it swell. Then AFTER IT DRIES, some pins will remain just swollen enough to fit properly. Others may not, then I resort to any of the above methods.
ps…I never trust removable endpins for prolonged standing and playing. Those guitars usually earn an endpin jack or permanent pin anyway.
