(Another thing I'm thankful for) my family is hip enough we all watched the Lowell George documentary together yesterday after Thanksgiving dinner.

We got to see Little Feat live a few times before LG passed and as a young man living w/ other musicians just out of school, we discovered Little Feat and for a whole winter, listen to nothing but Little Feat.

After the LG documentary we all watched the John Fahey documentary late into the night. Family fun.

And found out about both documentaries here on the AGF, thanks!

Thanks for sharing this. I have always been a fan of Lowell George, and Little Feat. What a great band.

I will look this up tonight.

Watched the doc tonight. Teary eyed. I had just turned 18 in 1979, had just graduated from hs and was so excited to see Lowell solo. We had seen Little Feat all through high school as they recorded feats don't fail me now in Maryland and we were in DC where they played a ton. WHFS played a lot of LF. The DJ who introduces the band in Waiting for Columbus was from WHFS.
Anyway we saw his last show. There is a recording of that night out there.
Still one of my favorites. And willin and easy to slip are in my repertoire.

Saw Feat with Allen Toussaint at Lisner (Georgetown U.), my first time. Feat was amazing, so was Toussaint (the opening act). They did a regular residency at the Warner Theatre in DC. They were huge in DC, and had the huge following (so did Raitt/Palmer/Jackson Browne). Massive sound. They broke in DC on WHFS. Thanks Cerphe.

Feat was never the same after Lowell passed.

Hi Andy - interesting (if frustrating) that that video is "unavailable" - is it one of the first to be blocked in the EU I wonder?

I did find this ;

Andy, are you sure it's blocked? I'm playing it now and it's fine.

In 1977 and 78 we were at the Warner for many of those Warner Theater Feat shows. They usually played 3-4 nights , two shows a night. One year with John Hall opening. Imagine them playing "Waiting for Columbus" twice a night for 4 nights. How did they pull that off? The crowd was crazy for the band and they did not disappoint. Live music heaven.
