Default Cedar

I’ve officially got gas. So looking for some suggestions…Here sort of what I’m looking for if anyone has any thoughts?

- Cedar top
- small or medium body, prefer all solid wood
- forward scalloped bracing
- under $1k

Anything in particular comes to mind?

You might struggle to find a all solid option in your price range.
Taylor 500 series used perhaps.

I’ll just chime in like the harmony-singing little chipmunk that I am and add to the happy chorus: go for the Eastman. They represent a superb value for the money.

Hope this helps.

There's a used Furch OM CM (cedar over mahogany) in that range listed on the used section of Guitar Center's website.

How do they do it for $500? I've missed a Cedar topped guitar...I might just have bite on this myself?

Default Cedar

I have a Taylor 514ce 2006, I think it sounds really good! I play it interchangeably with my Goodall rcjc. Goodall is still better but not by much frankly.
Not sure how the new Taylor’s sound though.

The open pore Sapele body helps them hit the price point. I own two of these guitars (one Sitka, one Adi), but not this new Cedar top, yet. I miss the warmth of a Cedar guitar.

I love this one, but wish I had gone with, and will likely soon order the Sitka model too...
I play almost only fingerstyle, but when I strum a bit, it's easy to over-drive the cedar top...I may just have a very sensitive one...don't get me wrong, it sounds soooo sweet.

Hell if you were going to spend $1k, you could get the Cedar and the Spruce top!

Yes, thanks, I was just looking at this.

I wonder how it sounds though. I hope it doesn't have that Seagull-like tone.
