Default NGD! Rainsong!

I pulled the trigger today on my first Rainsong - I chose the S-OM1000N2, matte finish, I am thrilled beyond expectation! Great instrument, great sound, it sounds really good amplified, and the build quality is superb. The N2 neck is really comfortable, and although I only got the gig bag, it is well constructed. I tried a few out, and even being the cheapest model I played, I think a good value, the Black Ice models were really nice, I just couldn't justify the price difference. Now I'd like to see them build an acoustic bass(hint!!?)
Anyway, I am happy with my purchase, and want to thank fellow forumites for their opinions in other threads- Rainsong was not at the top of my list, your reviews and obvious respect and adoration of the brand was a big factor in my even considering them. thank you all!

Regards

Congrats! I just got a S-WS1000 and love it. I was amazed at the build quality but, mostly the sound of them. The sustain is just unreal and guitar is so easy to play. I will always have this one in the collection.

Congrats! I'm envious - my RainSong isn't going to be here for another week or so, and I'm getting twitchy!

That's awesome. Enjoy. I am a dedicated fan and willing shill for RS now. I was gigging last weekend down in the desert with some pretty good players with Martins (the big number models !) and they were blown away with the volume and finesse of my WS3000. Easily held my own and drove the background all night...

Congrats and welcome aboard. The Rainsongs sure have a unique and wonderful tone. You might consider getting a pickguard. Mine love theirs...

What sort of adhesive did you use to attach the guard with? They look great!

The pickguards are old Martins with adhesive backing. The dread has a D45, and the other is an OM. I got them from this Ebay seller http://stores.ebay.com/Gman-Music?_trksid=p4340.l2563...

I've gotten by with a clear pickguard on mine, but yours DO look nice! #1 Rainsong promoter here also - it would probably be the last one I'd get rid of, much as I love my Larrivees!

Those pickguards look about perfect to me...great find. You think they affect the sound at all?

Thanks. I guess they do affect the tone, but I love the sound of these guitars, the look of the pickguards, and the protection they afford. I didn't like the feel of the FT on the OM so the pickguard proved to be a great way to avoid brushing or strumming against it...
