Andy - there are many other courses, but your old friends, time, patience and practice will be your best companions. You may want to check out Happy Traum's, "Conquer the Challenge of the Steady Thumb" or Toby Walker's. "Learning How to Fingerpick". But, as I mentioned a couple of years ago, listening to that bass line and 'splitting your brain (to hear the bass and the melody (in different channels)) was my breakthrough for me.

best,

Rick

Thanks Rick - much appreciated.

I'll jump in with Tommy I think - I know there's a lot of hard hours to put in, but hopefully it will be worth it....!

I would like to finally master fingerstyle playing - before I part with my hard earned cash, is there any better way of learning to play fingerstyle than the Tommy Emmanuel courses??
Find a piece you would like to play (YouTube, CD) then track down the tab and give it a try.
