I’m digging how it’s visible through the dark part of the burst as well. It came out quite nice. Definitely a burst of sunshine in CT, Bob.

This is bringing back some memories! If you think it looks good in photos, you’re in for a treat when it’s in your hands. Can’t wait to see this all put together.

Default Looks Amazing

Geez Juston, this is really an exciting build to see come to life. I've been thinking about vintage Gibson guitars lately, and seeing this made me drool. Can't wait to hear how this all comes out. You are tempting me!

Yeah, we're getting really close, and I think the Hoffee case will actually be delivered just in the nick of time. I don't know exactly when it'll ship but expect some time in the next few weeks or so.

The case arrived. I had Jeff make a custom color. It was supposed to be an avocado green, but it came out more of a surf green/mint. Still looks awesome. I wanted something reminiscent of a 40s color.

I have been so tempted to run across town, break into Dale’s shop, and commit grand larceny.... but sigh, I’ll just have to wait till Oct 20 (day after my daughter’s wedding) to get on the list!

Enjoy your new guitar! And happy New Year!

Rick

Nice! I didn’t know custom was possible...this gets the gears spinning.

Very cool. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Shortly, I'll be heading for JFK airport and a flight to Oslo, where, among other things (my students and I are presenting at an international human rights conference), I'll be recording a Kalamazoo Gals event with Norwegian musicians playing the went-to-WWII Banner SJ. Here is the guitar and yours truly a few years ago in the same neighborhood (well, roughly: Sweden):

And it's done and ready to ship on Monday. Looks like the final weight is 3 lbs 14 oz, which is getting down there. It should be a real feather weight. It's pictured next to Joseph's relic'ed 13 fret and also in the Hoffee.
