Default La Patrie Collection string recommendations

I have points to use up at Musicians Friend and thought that I would stock up on strings for my La Patrie Collection. I just play for personal enjoyment. Any recommendations?

How long do new strings in original packaging last?

Thank you

Hello rjathon,

The basic strings that lot of people use are D'addario EJ45 (normal tension) or EJ 46 (high tension). They are quite neutral, always intonate perfectly and are pretty cheap. They last a long time in the original packaging if not opened (they are sealed).

If you find them not bright enough or, dare I say, a bit boring, here a 3 wonderful (but a bit pricier) options:
-Savarez Creation 510MRP or 510 MJP (please note that the basses would have a tendency to oxydizes if you keep them unused for years in the original packaging)
-Hannabach 815 (pick a tension below what you would normally use)
-Knobloch Actives CX (trebles are carbon type but without the thin/metal sounding)

Please tell me what you think if you try any of those 3!
