When I saw the thread title my first thought was how unexpected to have not only two songs in the thread, but ones by Cat Stevens and Bon Jovi consecutively. Nice being able to record with your son!

It's very nice! I'm extremely pleased that he took the time so we could do this! Thanks so much for watching and taking time to comment!

OK Glenn and Ian, that was very good, and I have a challenge for you:

Father and Son singing Cat Stevens' "Father and Son" (props to Nama).

Thank you Marty!

I'm glad you thought the Dead or Alive song worked out okay.

I think it's unlikely that Ian will have time to work on anything else for a long time to come, but you never know. Thanks for the suggestion.

As long as we're making father & son duet requests, I'll cast my vote for Talkin' to the Wrong Man which Michael Martin Murphey recorded with his son, Ryan. I think it would make an awesome Glenn & Ian performance...

Thanks so much K&G!

That is so nice of you! You put a big smile on my face, too!

You know, this is probably really dumb, but I keep watching this video -- and I usually don't watch my videos that much. But something about watching this performance with Ian, and listening to his amazing voice and really tasty bass playing, it just makes me feel good.

What a great experience to have done this!

Thank you so very much for your kind comments and vote of confidence! You have really made my day!!!

All the best to you K&G!

- Glenn

Thank you Started!

Yes, I thought you would appreciate this. Ian is probably closer to your age, but regardless of age, it's always very rewarding to make music within your own family. It was fun for me because Ian has established himself in the music world as his own person. He has his own internet music composition business, he and his wife run a very cool opera workshop at the local college, and Ian already established himself as the lead singer in a fairly successful prog-rock band 25 years ago. So, he is much more than my son; he's his own person, with his own set of impressive skills.

So for him to take the time to do this performance with me is pretty cool, because we come together in this effort as co-equals. In fact, he has probably done much more with music in his life than I ever did, in spite of the fact that he stills makes his primary living as an engineer, just as I did.

As I get older I realize there are not going to be many more opportunities to do something like this. So, I am savoring the experience.

I hope all is well for you and your family! Take care!

- Glenn
