So nice, GlennWillow! Love the emotion in your voice and your playing. I've always liked this song. The chord changes are so interesting. Did you change some of the chords and add the modulation? Thanks for sharing your gift!

Thank you Larry!

How wonderful to hear from you! I'm so pleased that you feel this came out okay.

It does have some tricky parts, probably because it was composed on the piano but somebody with some musical education and training, unlike me! I always learn something when I figure out a song on the guitar written by a piano player.

I hope you are doing well, Larry! I appreciated that photo of you and George Gruhn! I hope your business is doing well!

Take care,
- Glenn

Hi Karen!

Thanks for your comments and for listening! The chord changes are very interesting -- I agree.

As far as I know, I didn't change anything in how I played this compared to how it was originally written, but I'm not a piano player and so I'm sure that I imposed some of my own musical ideas on this song even if unintentionally.

I mostly based my playing approach and the key I used on a version of this song done by Michael Buble', shown below. But I am not a Michael Buble' kind of singer, so I just sang it however it felt right to me.

Like you, I really like the melodic feel of this song. It's a very comfortable, warm kind of song to sing, I think.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments, Karen.

Thank you Song!

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I'm glad you thought this worked out well.

I have not heard this song since about '68 myself, so that's what? about 53 years! It's hard to believe that many years have gone by! Time flies!

I'm glad you remembered this. I had forgotten about it until a YouTube subscriber asked me to consider doing this song. But once reminded, I remembered what a relaxed and melodic song this is.

I hope all is well for you! Be well!

- Glenn

That was wonderful, Glenn. I really enjoyed it!

(That said, I still find your version of “Flowers Never Bend” just heartbreakingly beautiful.)
