Default NGD: Epiphone 60s Les Paul

I already own the Epi Les Paul 59 but wanted a 60s model as well. I bought it to modify and have already added the following:

Bigsby B70
Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90 pickups
B2400 Roller bridge

I have to say, this is fast becoming one of my favorite electrics! What an absolute joy to play!20210705_030317.jpg

All that’s left to do now is a good set of locking tuners! Good luck with this very hotrodded axe.

Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90 pickups! I bought an Epiphone standard one time (short story.. screaming deal) to put these pickups in, but a friend wanted more than me so I sold it to him. I'm thinking about this project again.

Please tell me your thoughts about these pickups!!!

btw.. still thrilled with my '59!

So far, I am liking them quite a lot! They have a bit more clarity than the buckers it came with, though there was really nothing wrong with those. Since I already have the same pickups in my 59, I wanted something different. I would not say the Phat Cats are exactly like a true P90, but they sound really good to me!

Todd, what a great looking Epi! You did some great upgrades on it. The Phat Cats must sound fantastic in it.

I'm assuming that the '59 neck is a little chunkier than the 60s?

Thanks Dru! The 59 neck is definitely chunkier, but the 60s neck is not what I would call thin by any means. It really is a great guitar and the Phat Cats are great!

Gorgeous! Very tastefully done. I just picked up a new “Burgundy Mist” Les Paul Modern and can relate. What a fantastic guitar!! I’m blown away at the quality and features (ebony board, Grover locking tuners, neck carve, push/pulls/phase reversal, real maple cap).

I’ve added a roller bridge (they say the standard epi version is “improved” and from Tone-pros). Maybe on someone else’s guitar. Mine was the typical garbage rattle trap. No thx. Easy enough to replace.

I will throw a set of Classics in it at some point. The jury’s still out on that. The ProBuckers def favor the PAF flavor.

I will add a B70 too. Love a Bigsby. Very nice guitar, Sir. Enjoy, and play in good health.
