My phone has Bluetooth 4.1 and I never had any problem.

Personally I'd prefer for it to be a user selected option, though it would be easy to have break music playing through it, which would also keep the unit on until you're done with your performance.

In this case, only the 6-10s safe button requires to be patient.

As far as leaving stuff ON for 20 minutes while you are not in the room... Nowadays, I don't know if it makes sens anymore. I would not leave my guitar out of sight that long either.
One of the things that initially caused me grief was that JBL should have had the Reverb effect engaged so that when unboxing and first turning on the EON ONE Compact, a user has Reverb available with the "Reverb" control knob on the unit's side panel. Having to download, install, and use the App, although easy to do, can be initially puzzling and inconvenient for those who haven't used app-controlled speakers before and are used to physical knob twisting.

There is a firmware update available now for the JBL Eon One Compact. Not sure what it does, but mine is currently updating.

There isn't a noticeable difference. But, it's been loud enough for my K&K pickups. And with max gain, I can confirm slight clipping with a K&K equipped dreadnought. So, I'm not sure there is much benefit to having more gain for channel 3.

Okay, so my issue now is that the app connects but after just maybe 30 or 45 seconds it disconnects. Is this normal? If not, it's ftrustrating. I have a Note 8 running Bluetooth 5. It should be fairly up to date. I have a small window for a return so I need to decide something soon.

There has been many sbl 600 series of Bluetooth problems... I guess if it is not compatible with your phone. Does it disconnect while going into sleeping mode?

Does your phone has the same problem with any “regular” Bluetooth speaker?

Found a similar problem with another app in another forum:

Try this...

Settings, apps & notifications, advanced, special app access, battery optimisation

If it's like mine, you'll see that the bt tool is being optimised to save battery, so you need to switch it to not optimised.

If you're using an app like android auto, make sure you go to smart assist, power save manager and tick the ones you don't want to stop.

I just changed my battery from optimised to high performance. Will see how that works. Will also try it from my iPad Air which is only a few weeks old.

New tip/trick:

The EQ Out modes seem to make a difference in the output gain structure. If you switch from flat to performance modes, the SPL goes up and a low cut filter is applied. It gets noticeably louder to me. It would make sense that with a low cut filter they would allow the SPL to increase.

I also felt that but I thought they just pushed the mids. Our ear is mostly sensitive to mids so It feels louder.

It is however a reasonable question to ask to JBL.

Is their a limiter overide in performance mode?

After updating, have your bluetooth device "forget" the JBL and then reconnect per JBL's instructions.

It appears I have to have two bluetooth connections to the JBL; one for the mixer and one for bluetooth music. Anyone else?

After the update I played bluetooth music through my JBL. The master eq was reset to FLAT. I changed it to Performance mode and the volume went DOWN. I haven't tried it with a mic or instrument yet, but will tomorrow.

Well, ain’t that a kick in the pants. Lol. I thought I had uncovered a closely guarded secret.
