Yep, Tapatalk is easy. For those (like myself) who do not have an on line hosting site, it’s the way to go.
I don’t use it to view the forum, but I use it to post pics - on here as well as a few other forums.

Default Are suggested 3rd party photo sites free?

I don't use a cell, only have laptop. I would like to post pics direct to my messages but am told I need a 3rd party host. I was wondering if any are free and easy to use that would be compatible with AGF?

Randy,

As I mentioned to you, the only way to post pictures directly from your laptop is to become a charter member. There are many other benefits of membership, but posting from your laptop is one of them.

Otherwise, you'll need the third-party host. You're asking for examples when they are given in the very first post of this thread. Did you read this thread? There is a ton of information in it about third-party hosts. Photobucket started charging a couple years ago, but I believe the others are still free. My guess is that Imgur is probably the most commonly-used host on the forum, but many work fine.

Please let me know if I can help you.

There are a number of websites that do a better job of allowing you to manage your photos, albums, etc., and they are designed to work with forums like ours. The most popular are:
http://picasaweb.google.com/
http://imgur.com/
http://photobucket.com/
http://www.flickr.com/

Once you upload your photos, they give you a link to your pictures which you can use on the forum or on your website, etc. The link looks something like this:

PHP Code:
[img]http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae69/edwinsonguitar/Edwinson%20Guitars%20for%20Healdsburg/IMG_0018-1.jpg[/img]
you can insert images into your post using the Insert Image button or just cutting and pasting the link from photobucket/flickr into your message. The magic is in the [img] and [/img] tags that you put around the link to the image. This tag causes your image to be displayed on the forum if used correctly. Using the above example link, you get this:

Wow...!! That's really nice. Thanks for sharing

Why can't we post our from our own galleries.

Galleries? What does that mean? Is your "gallery" a
directory on your computer? Pictures that we can
see on the board need to be on the Internet ...

Once you find a social-media-friendly place to store
your images on the Internet, you can just put the URL
in your post and surround it with img tags...

Paying members of this forum have the option to upload
their images here someplace, but I don't use that option.
Someone posted details about the URL/img-tag thing a
few posts above...

Default HELP ADDING PICS

Hello,

I joined the AG forum a week or so ago and wanted to ask for help in identifying guitar I bought.
It will not let me upload (even signed up for a 3rd party app as suggested (PHOTOBUCKET) but it will not let me do this...
What is needed for me to do this?
Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

Mark Stander

I did a quick tutorial here using Imgur:

Sound is a bit low, I can re-record at some point but hopefully this is useful!

Looks good to me! Google drive doesn’t work consistently. Something to do with the URLs not ending in a file type (.jpeg, .png, etc.)

Using photo sites does not address the upload feature I have tried to use.

I have entered the link after uploading in the post and the whole post crashed.

Why have a pic upload if they crash the post?
