Great, thank you! If I understand it right, the Señorita is a Bacon and Day model, whereas the Jumbo and the Euphonon are built in the Larson Brothers' style, that is, all three are definitely not in the Gibson or Martin camp. Interesting...

That is correct. Right off I can say the Jumbo (Prairie State Larson Brothers style) has a “snap” to the tone (tone is not easy for me to describe...apologies) to my ears. Very articulate, especially considering it has Rosewood B/S which can sound a bit muddy to me at times. It has a Sitka top (not Adirondack). It is 4 3/8” at the end pin as compared to a 5” depth of my ‘74 D-28. Maybe the laminated bracing (Larson Brothers innovation) also has something to do with what I’m hearing?
More to come next week!

I don't read the forum every day but I remember when you ordered your Halcyon. Is it still in the game now that you have the New Era guitars?

I still have the Halcyon and like it a lot. I may end up moving it because of these recent purchases (and my car just broke down on the way to an out of town gig about four hours ago 🤷*♂️), but it will not be an easy decision. Halcyons are incredible values as well!

“Hello, my name is Patrick and I’m a Crooked Staraholic”. From left to right: Euphonon, Senorita, and Prairie State Jumbo.

I wish I had some good recording gear. ☹️
A PSA to Sal and others:
The 12 Fret Crooked Star Senorita is for sale on eBay.
There are three CS Senoritas, one of which a 12 Fretter.

No affiliation, etc.

Well I can't believe it, but the next one to be listed is owned by me. This CS 17" Prairie State Style Jumbo came up for sale on reverb and I bought it:

I feel blessed to own 2 out of the 14 built so far (Senorita and Prairie State).

So here is the registry as of today:

Senorita (14 Fret)-bayoubengal
Prairie State Jumbo-bayoubengal
0-18-Ledgerock
0-18-Kris Truelson

Four listed and 10 to go.
I talked to Kris right after he got his (he's a local guy) and he was absolutely floored with the guitar. I think he pretty much retired his old Martin from the road after getting it. After Kris told me about them I spent quite a while drooling over the website. They are really good guitars.

Just an FYI.

I'm a jumbo fan (see below) - this picture above just made my day.
Fantastic.

Default Someone had to say it..

..I guess it's me; haven't heard of New Era, Crooked Star or Tony Klassen. Is there a link to discussion about them? Very cool guitars.

His company ARK/New Era has been building these great guitars inspired by the Larson Bros guitars and other alternative builders from the early 20th century. They are fantastic and very unique. You could be the only one at a jam not playing a Martin or Gibson.

Not as of yet, but Tony told me he will probably build five CS Guitars in 2020 starting this Winter. You could write him. His email address is on the Ark New Era website. He’s usually pretty good about responding.
