Default Strings for 2016 Martin OO-28

Hi,

Just wondering what strings folks like on their Martin OO-28 (2016 "re-imagined")

Thanks!

I don’t know (with any confidence) but the one I played last week blew my hair back (with Martin PBs). Really surprisingly cool little guitar.

I know they're a little spendy but you should try some Thomastik Infeld Spectrum strings. They bring the best out of all my guitars, ranging from small bodied guitars and my D-28.

W, what you’re going to get in this thread is everyone telling you what strings they happen to like. But I’ve owned a Martin Custom Shop 00-21 for a little over a year now, and the strings that I’ve found that I like the most on it are John Pearse phosphor bronze strings in Bluegrass gauge (medium bass strings and light gauge trebles.) I was kind of surprised that the phosphors were the strings I went with on this guitar, because most Martins I’ve owned and ALL rosewood Martins I’d owned prior to this one have sounded best to me with John Pearse 80/20’s.

Not this one, though. Phosphor bronze strings won the comparison test on this particular instrument.

I should mention that the 00-21 has rosewood back and sides, just like your 00-28. This guitar has a 12 fret neck join instead of a 14 fret neck, so that can make a difference.

Anyway, hope this helps.

My 2018 00-28 is currently wearing Elixir PB lights (12's). I have these on all my Martin guitars.

Default Hmmmmmm.....

Currently have Elixir Nano 12's . I really liked the Martin 7400 PB's (no longer made). My thought is this Martin sounds good with ANY kind of strings
