R Carlos Nakai & William Eaton, "carry the gift", a combination of Nakai's native American flute and Luthier William Eaton playing instruments he builds, harp guitar, lyre, and synth guitar. Eaton has been a champion pole vaulter, grad Stanford in business, studied guitar building and later taught at Roberto-Venn school of luthiery.
Nakai is a premier world performer of the NAF, trained in classical trumpet, and uses the NAF in very diverse musical directions.
This album is very calming.

Don Alder is very well known and quite good at fingerstyle. He might not be relaxing enough though. Give him a listen.

I think folks will like it and it will be a nice change from the stereo typical thing they usually do. Again, this is not for meditation (those are silent). It's for registration, social hour and dining. So light, uplifting, chill and instrumental.

Just to clarify, I will not be playing guitar, this is just for a recorded background tracks. Would you be so kind as to make some recommendations of artists who's tracks would be useful?

Thanks
Almost any of my CD's would fit your situation.

El McMeen and Doug Young would be two great additions to the list. And if you wanted to spice things up a bit, you could check out Adam Rafferty.

Best,
Jayne

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help.

I do like this idea. It would be great to be able to include some fellow AGF members.

Tingstad and Rumbel

Eric Tingstad plays guitar, Nancy Rumbel plays woodwinds.

Really nice elegant mellow stuff, and they are Grammy Winners for their CD Acoustic Garden.

Also, another thumbs up for Ed Gerhard. Check out his CD The Live Album...really superb live bootleg...of sorts...recording done by Ed on his concert tours in 1999.

Default solo guitarists

Check out Parker Hastings. Amazing finger style or anything else. He is only 20 now but has been a champion since a young age. Plays regularly with TE . He is a really nice guy too . He is currently going to Belmont in Nashville.
