Or at least a bonus mug or two, since his sweetie "appropriated" his.

Ummm... 3 new Emeralds. That's one for the sweetie, one for himself, and a spare for visitors.

Back a few years ago when Sean was the go to person to discuss a build with they did offer me a pretty great discount when I ordered my X20 Cocobolo. I had purchased an X20 Opus and X20 Opus Baritone from them the year before.

Don't know if they still do this as prices have jumped a good deal since then but they are still awesome guitars at there prices I feel.

I've never had any other company offer me a discount for being what they called a great customer so I was pleasantly surprised and of course appreciated the discount.

Is there a downside to this scenario?

LOL...that's funny! Almost as funny as byudzai looking for someone here to sympathize with him.

Awesome review man. I had my x30 for just over a month now and I've been meaning to do a review myself just been too busy lately. I do make a point to play it whenever I can though. It's amazing how comfortable it is to play for a guitar that size. Alistair and the crew at Emerald designed an all around winner here.

Wow, that was a really good review! A very eloquent and thorough presentation… one of the best guitar reviews I've seen, especially in the difficult-to-review realm of carbon fiber.

Congratulations!

PS - next time you go over the esthetics of an Emerald, how about a shout out to Rufus the silver dog?

Thank you for the kind words! I don't know about Rufus -- I never thought to ask about the logo!

From an old post (https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...4&postcount=11)
"The Hound, or Rufus as Alistair sometimes calls it, is a modern interpretation of a very ancient artistic Irish Celtic theme.

The logo was designed by Mark Willett, an Australian designer living in Derry, just across the border in Northern Ireland, in 2000. Having looked at different themes across Celtic mythology, Alistair and Mark decided on something uniquely Irish Celtic - The Hound - inspired by designs featured in the Book of Kells (Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Kells).

If you delve further into ‘The Hound’ in Irish mythology, you may find a lot of similarities to the hit HBO programme, Game Of Thrones, which is filmed not too far from us!"
Rufus has evolved a bit over the years. He used to be a bit more 3-D, but is now sleeker and lays flush with the headstock.

Now this keeps getting better and better. The hound happens to be my favorite character on Game of Thrones which happens to be my favorite tv show of all time. Now his mark rests upon my x30 headstock!
