song with droning sound

I quit seeing my guitar teacher in June. He had given me copiee of two songs that had a sort of droning part - in many measures, the melody was accompanied by repeadly plucking the same notes on lower strings. I suspect that what I want is very old. I don’t know whether, for example, you should call this style medieval or renaissance. I am looking for one or more songs with this characteristic. I already have “the renaissance guitar” by Fredrick Node. Any suggestions of books or links to something are welcome.

A lot of celtic songs tend to have drone notes in the base.
