Default Jerry Reed- Heavy Neckin' ??

Hi everyone... I am enjoying the forum, been lurking here a while...

I have begun playing guitar after a long hiatus. About 25 years ago, I owned a copy of Heavy Neckin'- the book of Jerry Reed transcriptions by John Knowles. I made the mistake of loaning it to my guitar teacher about a year after I got it.

Anyone here own that book? I can remember about 2/3 or so of 3 songs from it, and it seems like some of the other transcriptions floating around are different from the way John Knowles notates them.

Anyone play Bluefinger, The Claw, or The Early Dawn? Those are the ones I could play at one time in the past...

Cheers,

John

Hi John,

Welcome! I'm a big Jerry Reed fan, too. I don't have "Heavy Neckin" but those transcriptions can be ordered from John Knowles. You can find other versions online as well, too.

I play "The Claw" and "Are You From Dixie?" and have worked on "La Madrugada" and lots of others.

There's a lot of Jerry's tunes in tab here.

Buster B. Jones also has videos/dvd's that teach Jerry's tunes.

Happy pickin'!

I am looking for Heavy Necking as well. If anyone has a copy for sale, I would be very thankful.
