I just got the in stock black x7 from a couple weeks ago to replace my old x7 previous generation. I like it better. Definitely a deeper sound and less bright than the old one. Body is noticeably thicker but not a problem. Oddly the head stock seems a bit shorter as tuners don’t stay on as well.

Hope that helps. Just sold my old one on Craigslist yesterday
