I just scored a barely used Furch Red Masters and am very impressed by it. While I didn't play them side by side, I sold a Taylor 914ce recently to fund the Furch. Based on my recollection of the Taylor, I'd say that the Furch is probably 30% louder and is VERY balanced. Great note separation and rings like a bell. I'm very happy with it and if I had needed to drive 4 hours to get it and 4 hours back, it would have been well worth the time for what I think will be a long term relationship. But hopefully there is something else along the way that can make the road trip that much more worth it!

They are incredible instruments. Pretty much what I always wanted Taylor to sound like.
