Default How to tell if pins are proper fit?

I ordered some tusc pins for my Epiphone DR500 and I ordered what I was told was the correct type for this model. The pins look quite different from the stock pins but they seem to work. The fit very loosely into the holes though. So my question is....how do you know if they are the correct pins for this guitar?

these are the ones I got for my Epiphone DR500

They should have a similar fit as the originals. Sounds like yours many be a bit small, or wrong pitch.

Yes I think they are. They are very loose. I just read somewhere they should fit snug. They don't

Just to clarify, ebony is not TUSQ. Take the guitar to a guitar store and ask if they can find some pins that fit better. A small shop may take care of you faster.

Epihone uses different sizes of pins on their guitars. You need to measure the thickness of the pin directly under the skirt to the nearest thousandth and also, at a location 3/4" below that measurement. Then you can figure the taper (3* or 5*) to find out what size pin you actually need.
