Default going to a final show....

My favorite guitarist is Rik Emmett. I've seen him so many times. My wife likes him too and we see him each year. Nowadays he does an acoustic duo serving of his Triumph classics, which is a great offering.

I have two tickets to a really historic old theater near my wife's hometown. She had to go out of town for work so I will probably bring our daughter along - she isn't a Rik Emmett fan but she loves concerts.

Anyway, my wife just called to tell me that he announced on Facebook this is his last performance before retiring. I knew he had some illness the last two shows.

So glad I got a ticket to see this. I don't have celebrity/musician/guitarist "heroes" but he is probably the biggest musician inspiration for me. It will be my last time seeing him.

He is a really good guitarist, too bad he's not well, hope things improve for him. Gives us a review when you can, I'd be interested in hearing how the concert went.

I saw Rik with Dave Dunlop about 6 months ago, and he mentioned that retirement was in his near future.

I expected great guitar work, but I didn't expect his voice to be in 1980's form. It was. I'm stunned he can still sing like that.

Fazool, this will be a bittersweet show for you, but I expect it's going to be a great one.

Fun show. Packed old historic theater. As always, really engaging and fun performance. The sound system here was so much better than last year's show (which was all piezo quack from their two Godn MultiAC's) This venue had it set up much better so it sounded actually good.

Great venue and great seats.
