Progress is coming along on the show guitars and I am also finishing up a classical and another steel string. Juggling all the projects sure can keep one busy!
Here is a shot of the end graft decoration for the "Shoji" guitar.

I've been super busy getting guitars ready for the artisan and la conner guitar shows, so i have been lax on taking photos, but at least I have been successful in getting the new guitars in the spray room. I am cutting it closer than i would like but the guitars should be done with a couple weeks to spare (fingers crossed). There is another guitar i'm working on, but no pictures of that one yet.

The clock is ticking down to the artisan guitar show and I've been too busy to take a lot of pictures but here is a teaser of one of the guitars I will be bringing to the show. I have had both guitars I am bringing to the show strung for about a week and I'm super excited to get them finished so I can really play them. The initial sounds of both guitars are EPIC!

Wow, what a whirlwind the last few months have been. Since I last posted I showed guitars at the Artisan Guitar show in Harrisburg PA and at the La Conner Guitar festival in La Conner WA. I've been so busy with travel and getting guitars finished that I haven't had time to do much else!

A brief word on the shows, the Artisan show was lots of fun and I was able to meet and hang out with the great Jimmy Bruno! I think he liked hanging with flattop makers because we weren't trying to hawk guitars to him!

The La Conner show is just a blast. Its a great little town for a guitar show and the guitar show is just top notch. I like to call it the Woodstock of the west, definitely a destination show that should be on everyone's list.

I have been back in the shop for about a week and I was able to get a couple shots of the Shoji guitar I had shown at La Conner to share, more to come for sure but that's all for now as this guitar is heading to Summer Namm to take part in the Boutique Guitar Showcase curated by Jamie Gale

Finally, while in WA, I was invited to show at the Woodstock Invitational Luthier's Showcase! I am designing a small body guitar to debut for that show and i'll try to post pictures of the progress of that guitar as I go (time and life allowing).

Ok, enough rambling, here are some guitar pics

last Friday I received a special and unexpected gift from a good friend, a set of The Tree! I am looking forward to putting it to good use for one of the guitars I will display at the Woodstock show. Along with the Tree guitar, I will be making a new model for me which will be my interpretation of an L-00. This guitar will feature Brazilian RW back and sides.

Default Sam Guidry-in the works 2018

With Woodstock fast approaching, I am just finishing the woodwork on the guitars I am bringing. The last step is the arm rest bevel. I did a different style bevel on this guitar than I have done in the past and it presented a lot of new challenges for me but in the end i am very happy with the results.IMG_4192.jpg

Well that bevel may have caused you issues, but from a consumer, I will tell you it was well worth the effort, that is just a really cool look with the way you did the purfling and blended the end graft into the body. Wonderful.

Beautiful work Sam!

Sorry for being pedantic, and I'm not sure if you are using the app to upload your photos, but can I suggest something for your next post?
When inserting photos after text, just make sure you hit the enter button to start a new line.
This straightens the post up quite a bit, and allows everything to be seen without side scrolling.
Thanks in advance!

so I realize now the difference when you post from the app versus using a desktop so I thought I would repost the pictures the old fashioned way.

getting ready to spray this weekend so this week I did all of the final detailing on the necks to get them into the booth. One of my favorite parts of the build is the shaping and beveling of my pegheads. also for you all, some pictures of a guitar I finished earlier this year called Shoji. This guitar was shown at the laconner guitar show and at the Swannanoa gathering where it found a home with Nashville guitarist Russ Barenberg.
