John, it was very nice to spend time with you and Barbara. As far as this guitar goes, I am shocked it didn’t follow someone home. It has a beautiful and bold sound, easily at home with fingers or pick, alone or with a vocalist…a true “all-arounder”. And, for its size, the bevels make it very comfortable to hold and play. It is a wonderful instrument.

I feel like we on AGF are missing the obvious rivalry between the Kinnaird bothers!

One sibling posts an amazing and beautiful build…..a week or two later, the other siblings posts one even more amazing build!

It is truly wonderful to sit back and watch. By the by…..it’s a definite Scottish tradition for one brother to best the other in mortal combat. Sorry, John, but my money is on Steve to come up with a topper! OTOH, I would happily take any Kinnaird guitar that showed up with a Scottish thistle on the headstock!

Thanks Mike
I thought it had a very nice sound. Al was on the verge but something came up and he couldn't get back on Sunday
Alas.
Nevertheless it was fun catching up with you at the show and hopefully that won't be the last time.

I think it's also Scottish tradition to try to stir up trouble, am I right?

A headstock THISTLE is something I have seriously considered.

That’s funny, Ian! And very kind of you. But I derive too much inspiration from my brother to “best (him) in mortal combat.” Gotta keep him around, making these beauties. For instance, I found this maple guitar utterly inspiring. His work, like many luthiers here, makes me go back to the bench wanting to up my game.

Way too kind brother but much appreciated. I think mutual admiration and inspiration is a more accurate way to describe our building relationship.

This guitar is also one of the finest-sounding guitars, with a very "fat" tone from bass to treble. I spent some quality time with it at BIG. Don't let anyone tell you that a maple guitar sounds thin and bright. There is real weight to the tone of this one. Wonderful guitar.

Thank you for the tonal evaluation. That makes my day.
