I have been on the hunt for a D-28, HD-28, D-35.....you know spruce rosewood Martin dread. Was in a music store yesterday and played all the above. Then grabbed an OM-28, oh boy, forget the dreads I want one of these now. So I get where you are coming from.

Happiness is wanting what you have. I realize that statement can get me banned as well

By "banned" do you mean you are forced to join a band you really don't like, playing music that grates your nerves, and never getting paid ?

Agree. Even the best D’s are a little bit of smoke and mirrors, like a hallway to en trance you to enter, but a good OM will be clear, yet deep like a well of water with reflection. You’ll have to pry mine from my cold dead hands, in any case.
