Default TreeHouse Guitar build - Cocobolo/Adirondack OMZ florentine cutaway

Hey everyone!!
So this is a build I've been really excited about for quite some time. I will be doing some new (and exciting) things with this build and will have it ready for VIGF in August. Hope you enjoy following along!

I have also been loving incorporating copper into my designs. The learning process of giving the copper different patinas with different chemicals and reactants and trying to control it was a fun one.
So this is the rosette which has a portion that is segmented asymmetrically. It's one ebony wood ring with the copper inlay.

The sides on this one are gorgeous as well - with a small amount of sapwood. [emoji1362]

Thanks! Yeah, I'm also going to use a cocobolo fretboard which is even more gorgeous and unique.
And thanks for following this thread!

Default Coco

Great looking coco alright. Saw some that colour at Exotic Woods in Burlington On. Was sorely tempted to buy some, but have a few sets already, but not that orange shade. Nice to follow the build.

Yep! I got this set at Exotic Woods actually. You may have passed it up!
Thanks for following along on this build!

This guitar is getting solid, full-width liners on the sides which means super stiff sides which in turn helps the top and back vibrate/pump more efficiently (with less energy being lost into the sides). As far as I know the first person to do this is Paul McGill; I think it's an ingenious idea!

Back braces are carved and the back is ready to go on the rim! I've always carved my back braces in a pyramid shape, this is how I was taught by Sergei de Jonge and it's the way that resonates (no pun intended...) most with my theories and understanding.

Hello, Zacharius! Yes, you found some beautiful woods for this one. Interesting bracing on the back, too. I like the use of copper. I once had a luthier do the whole top in copper.

Default Sides

I had never seen lined sides till I joined the AGF. Makes a lot of sense to me. Have to think long and hard about how to accomplish it well before I try it.
I have the same Veritas bevel up plane as you. Keep it just for jointing tops and backs. Love the long fore sole in front of the blade. Really helps register the plane before the cutting starts, as you know. Just mention it for others.

Thanks J.R.!!
Wow, the whole top?? How did that work, it was on an electric I'm assuming?

Yes! Love my Jointer plane!
And as for the full-width liners, so far I'm loving it. It adds a considerable amount of mass to the instrument, but I'm thinking it'll be well worth it tonally. We will see!!

A few updated pictures.
These are from just before I closed the box. I believe the inside of a guitar is just as important if not more important than the outside so I want it to 1: serve its purpose as well as 2: look flawless even if no one is going to see it.
The extra interior details are unnecessary... but why not!
