You might want to look at Triad-Orbit as an option. Their stands are sturdy with a low center of gravity and secure (read heavy). They have two arm boom options (O2 and O2X). I got one right after a gig where the sound guy was striking the stage right after the gig and accidentally knocked one of the cheaper aluminum stands over crashing into my Taylor 614ce and put a 9" crack down the side. The cost to repair would have covered the price of the stand.

They are pricey, but pro players use and love them, and I'm not giving mine up. Here's a pic of Ricky Skaggs and Ed Sheeran using the two arm boom.

These 'Kids' do a pretty good job with just one mic! And that's for two guitars and two vocals!

My In-laws were both born in Sweden and my wife grew up in a house where half the extended family spoke it.

I routinely use one mike stand and 2 mikes, with an adjustable gooseneck for the instrument mike. This has never caused me a problem and I am sold on it.

Yes, I have used a single condenser mike and it makes a better show than it does a sound. They can make a good sound, but balancing everything is something else.

Hallå is more often used as a way of getting attention, can sound a bit abrupt to a non-Swede (I find it a bit of a patronising way of getting someone’s attention) and can have a negative inflection (as in “hello, what is going on here...?). The usual way of saying hello or hi is more or less the same as American English, ie “hey!”.

Bluegrass bands use the single large diaphragm
condensors a lot . It's a "traditional" thing.
They sound great. I have used one in intimate
settings. It works great. in loud bars forget it.

I knew the soundtrack was wrong because I saw this on the news when it was news.
The point about the bad single mic placement was still not missed, though.

I remember thinking when I first saw the report, Wow, I didn't think that he had become that shy.

Kudos to him. He didnt throw a hissy fit or go all diva...He dealt with it and got down to the job of performing. I respect that.
