(SOLD) Breedlove Oregon Concert Manzanita Limited Edition (#20 of 50)
Oregon Concert Manzanita Limited Edition #20 of 50
This is a 2017 limited edition Breedlove Oregon Concert with a gorgeous Manzanita Red Burst gloss finish. Only 50 of these guitars were made. The guitar is in immaculate-mint condition with no scratches, dents, or dings, and the setup with 12-53 gauge strings is excellent and plays without any issues. It was difficult to photograph this guitar in a way that shows the depth of its beautiful color without the gloss finish picking up reflections. Any imperfections you see in the photographs are only reflections. While this Oregon Concert is a fingerstyle player's dream, it also excels with light to moderate strumming. To me, it has a very balanced and lively tone with a crisp and immediate attack that cuts through nicely in an ensemble setting. I'm primarily an electric guitar player that has always struggled to play comfortably on acoustic guitars. This guitar, however, has been an absolute dream to play on. Breedlove has done an incredible job of creating acoustics that are comfortable for electric players, and the Oregon Concert is stellar example. My only reason for selling is that I'm primarily called upon to do lead work on the acoustic gigs I do, and so I prefer acoustics with cutaways. This guitar has very little play time logged on it, and is always stored in its included hardshell case when not in use in my non-smoking, climate-controlled home. A fresh set of Curt Mangan 12-53 gauge phosphor bronze strings will be included. AGF Price: SOLD (was $1349 Shipped CONUS Only and PayPalled or Venmo) The guitar is also listed on Reverb.com. More detailed pictures available there. You can take advantage of Affirm financing if purchased on Reverb, though shipping and sales tax will be charged. Original Ad Copy "Inspired by the rich red Manzanita tree, the Oregon Concert Manzanita is a Limited Edition of 50 guitars built on Breedlove's most popular platform, the Oregon Concert, voted 2015 “Acoustic Guitar of the Year” by MMR Magazine. Crafted with tonewoods from America’s northwest, the Alaskan Sitka spruce soundboards come from 400-600-year-old, salvaged downed trees. With their unique strength-to-weight ratio, this old-growth Sitka is one of the most efficient tonewoods for delivering rich, powerful sound. And when paired with the amazing well-rounded balance of Oregon’s myrtlewood, with midrange fullness, depth, clarity, and liveliness we have created an amazing instrument that is wonderfully alive. Body Shape The Breedlove Concert is the original Breedlove shape. It first appeared in 1992, and has been the best-selling Breedlove body shape ever since. Designed specifically for the fingerstylist to be well balanced, compact, and comfortable to play, it generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The unique construction also allows the Concert to sing even at a full strum. If you’re a fingerstylist, or are seeking an instrument to use as vocal accompaniment, this is the shape for you. The Concert is engineered to provide exceptional sustain with a pronounced bass response, both of which can be achieved with a light touch. The graduated top works in harmony with the Breedlove Bridge Truss to provide an even response throughout the lows, mids, and highs, with sustain, and clear, concise, note-for-note projection. Breedlove Neck Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability – the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing. Asymmetrical Headstock This headstock isn’t just a pretty shape – it’s specifically designed to keep the strings in a straight, even line from the nut to the tuning pegs. The result is even tension, stable tuning, and ease of alternate tuning. Back and Side Woods Myrtlewood, umbellularia californica, formerly oreodaphne californica, originates in the western United States in Northern California and Oregon. Myrtlewood offers a strong fundamental with a powerful voice. Similar to maple, it has a clear and bright voice with superb projection and sustain, and offers a full and balanced sound. A versatile non-traditional tonewood, it is a favorite for many styles of playing. Myrtle has very unique and widely varied figure – no two sets are alike. Top Wood Sitka spruce, picea sitchensis, originates in the northwest United States. Sitka spruce has been the primary top wood for American-made instruments for decades. It is strong and light with extended harmonic content, and it nearly equals the power of Adirondack. It offers a strong, focused tone with a solid fundamental -- perfect for flatpicking styles. When compared with European spruce, Sitka delivers warmer, more fundamental sound, largely free of overtones. Sitka takes a slightly longer period of playing time to open up. It has a straight uniform grain and coloration ranges from white to pink to light brown."
