Lemme see, the peg head is a flat surface. A cat's face is not. Yet.
I might just imprint the cat's face over the entire peg head. Shouldn't take but one swipe.
Are indentions bad for tuning machines?

Just line up the natural indents, like eye sockets, nostrils, ears even if you can stretch things out a bit.
