Default Strumming Pattern for these songs?

Hey i'm extremely new to learning the acoustic guitar and i was hoping to play the exact same chords and strumming pattern in the first video.

There was info on the chords at the bottom of the vid, but how do you figure out the strumming pattern in songs especially in the one the first one i was hoping someone here could tell me by ear and yeah...

Thanks.

From looking at the video, I'd say the first one is DDUUDU (D is down, U is up).

The first is:

1- 2 - 3 - 4 -
D U U D U

You might be thrown off by the "miss" stroke, he's doing on the 2 beat during the verse, he does this to keep time, missing the strings on purpose. But he does an actual downstroke on the chorus to add some dynamic:

1- 2 - 3 - 4 -
D D U U D U

The second song is in 3/4 so it's a bit of a waltz feel, there's an emphasis on the 1 stroke, you can hear the player emphasize that downstroke, making it slightly louder:

1 - 2 - 3 -
D D U D

Good on you for trying to figure it out by ear, that's always the best. I'd recommend looking up some how-to-videos though to get a grasp on time signatures. Here's a YouTube channel that does excellent breakdowns of strumming patterns of popular songs:
