CL 1958 Gibson
The pictures on this add are really bad but I'd love to hear your opinions about this guitar. He sure doesn't give much info! Anyone have a guess at the model and woods?

Looks like a refinished LG-0 ...... but I am far from an expert. The serial number does indicate 1958. It's certainly cheap.

Gibson LG. All Mahogany. Appears refinished but the pics aren't great. Definitely appears late 50's. If it's playable, it's a very good deal. Even if it needs a neck set etc... it's not a bad deal. It won't last long on CL.

I’ve got that guitar
It does look like a Gibson LG-0. I’ve got a 1958 LG-0 and it’s a fantastic guitar. I wouldn’t want it as my only guitar b/c it has a very specific sound that is compressed with little sustain but it’s resonant and has a really cool bluesy vibe. It’s a ladder braced guitar. Mine has a great neck profile that is like a chunky D shape. Super fun to play. If you can get it for a good deal, go for it. I paid about $900 for mine in pretty good shape.

1958 was the first year for the LG-0 so from what I can see base don the one pic there is nothing that jumps out that is worrying.

Sounds like it could have potential for some but a chunky neck is a deal killer for me. Thanks for the replies!
