Default Third string change on H&D 00-SP?

I have used D'Addario PB EJ16 lights and Straight-Up Lights with good results over the past few months. I am due another change and want to use different strings to compare results.

I have D'Addario CPB EXP16 Lights, Martin MA540 PB Lights and Martin MSP4100 PB Lights available. I would also consider ordering something else to aid in comparisons.

Welcome thoughts especially from anyone that has experience with the H&D 00-SP and a favorite string.

Jim

Atomnimity, I don't own a Huss & Dalton Double O, but I do have a 12 fret Martin 00-21. I use John Pearse phosphor bronze strings in Bluegrass gauge (medium gauge basses, light gauge trebles) on it. You might want to try those strings in one of the other light gauge sets John Pearse offers.

Hope this helps.

Why not try a different alloy other than Phos Bronz? Maybe one of the nickel/monel materials being offered lately. As a retro material it might work with the retro vibe of your 00-SP. I'm a big John Pearse fan but have to admit I've been liking D'Addario Nickel Bronze on my smaller body guitar lately. With all that said next up for me will be John Pearse's Pure Nickel strings. Enjoy whatever you pick.

Definitely try the Gibson Masterbuilt Phos/Bronze 12's. One member did a 15 string set shootout and these stuck out within the video. So I ordered a couple sets. Tried them on a couple different guitars... ordered a few more sets.

Also try DR Sunbeam 12's. They are equal in my estimation (yet different) than the aforementioned Gibsons. A 3rd recommendation would be D'Addario Nickel Bronze.

I have straight up mediums (same tension or less than other brands lights) on my Breedlove concert. They have a very rich sound. If you like their lights I think you’d really like the mediums. IMO

I echo this suggestion. JP pb lights worked great on my H&D T00-14
