Default Fall 2012 In Raleigh NC-- An AGF Event **Oct. 20-21**

Events -- In addition to several very nice guitar shops, especially Harry's Guitar Shop, Raleigh is rife with high-quality things to do for people of all ages. It is my wish for this to be a family happening, as well as a guitar/music event. Within 15 minutes of my house, downtown Raleigh has the Marbles Kids Museum, the NC Museum of Natural Science, the NC Museum of History, and much more.

The NC Museum of Art is in a new facility. The Rodin garden is sublime.

We have so many great restaurants here, it is useless to list them. When we know where/when we will be at an event location, I will get us a group deal for dinner at a restaurant nearby.

Guitar Stuff Along with vendor demos, picking sessions, and even the dreaded 'open mic', I have multiple small groups in mind for daytime activities, mini-clinics of a sort. I would like to tailor them according to the preferences of those in attendance. What do you want to see/hear/learn? Tell me. I want to fill the day with things you want to do.

Harry's Guitar Shop will be open to us for an AGF exclusive visit. Harry is a Martin, Taylor, Yamaha, Fender, and 'lotsa other guys' dealer. Great inventory and fantastic people. Watch the video on his home page. It's a keeper.

That's a start! Come on AGF, let's get to work making sure the people who miss this will not miss another. I would rather work within the resources of the AGF than without, if you know what I mean. We have everything we need right here--- players, singers, performers, touring professionals, luthiers.

And AGF sponsors? Is there a better way to get to know our members? I can't think of one.

That would be way too good! I was speaking of you just yesterday.

And folks, you might want to come to the gathering just to hear this guitar. Holy smokes, it's nice!

Good stuff, Tadmania!

Since I'm here in Raleigh, I'm definitely going to make it if the date works (it should). Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help since I'm right here. I've only been in town for a few months now, so I can't say my connections are of great value, but I know of at least three other members here that are local to the Triangle, and I'm more than willing to do whatever I can to help get things rolling. Just let me know.

Bel isi,

Even though my daughter's family who used to live in Cary near Tad has moved to California, this sounds like a really good reason to go back to NC.

Tad - We've gone to Harry's so many times together and gone through the back door, it was kind of funny to see the picture of the front on the website. I don't think I've ever seen Harry's from the front before.

And that video is brilliant.

Checking schedule now to make sure this w/e is open for attending. Saturday seems very doable. My sister lives in Raleigh so room is cheap.

Will keep a check on this thread for updates.

Thanks Tad!

LOL - It's going to seem funny to come to Raleigh and not stay with my daughter.

Tad - Would you look into hotel deals too?

Tell us what..... let's make the date more or less solid at October 20-21 right now. Eric will be in town and the day hasn't run into any major objections. is that good, friends?

........and mods, can we get us a sticky here?

Sounds good. I'll sticky it and add the date to the thread title.

Thanks to Kyle for the heads up ...

Count me in (unless unforeseen things come up) ... I work in Raleigh and live about 40 minutes southeast.

I have been to Harry's so many times, I lost count AND I help him stay in business!

Sounds like fun with lots of potential. I will be checking here for updates regularly.
