I'll throw in my 2¢ as a long time magnetic sound hole pickup user.

I used a Sunrise for a couple decades, probably the best sounding out there. The downside is the weight and size.

To my ear the best alternative is the Fishman Blackstack. Lightweight and small-sh, you can install it (with a bit of skill) w/ strings on and at tension in a couple minutes or less. I have my 00-15 w/ the Blackstack installed and have a spare that I can slap in my 12 string or Waterloo and have a consistent sound from guitar to guitar. The 00-15 sounds way acoustically w/ the Blackstack than the heavier Sunrise.

And the sound,.. to my ear the Blackstack w/ a Sunrise buffer box through a QSC CP-8 or Schertler Jam 400 is 90% of the Sunrise pickup's sound.

Maybe its my guitar but i find the sunrise does not effect the acoustic sound of my guitar
Much at all..im sure if i plugged it into
Some expensive equipment it could tell me otherwise. But to my ear not much dif at all.
Its been my favorite mag pup for a long time.
For recording or live sound. As feedback isnt
An issue i generally like to use a mic to record acoustic instruments. But the sunrise has a nice sound in its own..and to feed into a helix or other modeling device there is nothing like
A mag pup for that.. my second choice is the baggs m80..
