Default Baggs Anthem Quick Sound Degradation While Plugged In...?

I run an LR Baggs Anthem in a Martin DM into a Roland AC60. I can essentially have one "item" or effect in line between the guitar & amp. With the addition of a second item, the natural tone seems to degrade quickly.

By degrade, I mean that the sound becomes more nasally in the mids and lacks some of the airy transients of the mic sound. (Admittedly, I am not the most skilled at detailed EQ analysis and sound descriptions)

I know that a more simple chain always gives a clearer sound, but I am only talking about having a tuner pedal and a DI. Its like I can only have one or the other if I want the actual sound.

Does anyone else experience this with the Anthem? Or is there some genius way to get around this? I would love to be able to have a tuner and di on a small pedalboard that I can use whether playing through the amp or a PA system.

What are the specific pedals in what order that cause the problem?

So far, the pedals that have been tested are:
1.) Baggs Align EQ
2.) Boss RC1
3.) Hardwire Tuner (HT2 I think is it's official name)
4.) DOD active DI (DOD 285)

I have tired them in the following orders:
Align EQ -> Boss RC1 -> amp
Tuner -> Align EQ -> Boss RC1 -> amp
Tuner -> RC1 -> amp
Boss RC1 -> DI ->

The best scenario is just using the Boss RC1 directly into the amp. The RC1 into the DI wasn't quite as bad as any of the other combinations, but it still had the same general sound degradation.
