NGD- Kremona 90th
I tried to get a Kremora Solea from GC. Sent back as soo dry the whole back came off! Cracked too, but that I knew. Now it is back on G C for too much for a full rebuild guitar.
So bummed, i did what grown men with GAS do. I went and bought a mint Kremona 90th Anniversary on reverb. Great deal, great seller. Even better guitar. Plays so smooth and light, articulate and refined. Brighter and less muddy than the Solea. Before I started learning a couple of years ago, I wanted to do Classical, decided to start with steel string, and electric rabbit hole instead. Now I am back around to what I think I really wanted in the first place. Although I am still enjoying the steel too. |

Beautiful instrument!
I have a Solea and love it - smooth playing with a lovely and balanced tone. Is that Cocobolo? |

This is the Kremona 90th Anniversary, so it is Pau Ferro. As in the opening post, I was trying to buy a Solea and the one I got had been raisined. Cracked, braces and back coming off. Not worth the cost to fix. I think the Solea with Cedar and cocobolo is warmer and more bass heavy, lush in a good way. The 90 th is a little brighter and crisp, perhaps more articulate, in comparison. They both sound wonderful and I am happy with how this turned out. GC has the broken Solea up for sale at the same price I paid (and was refunded) for it, although they offered to knock $400 more off the price if I kept it. I think they are criminal for selling it again, they are only disclosing a 4” crack, and not the rest of the problem. I should have bargained them down more and bought it. It would have been a good opportunity to learn to fix it (probably not worth paying someone to fix it). Ah, well. |
