Default PRICE DROP! 2019 Atkin LG47-A “Forty Seven” Aged

Now Asking TRADED shipped.

LG47 Aged from Atkin in Canterbury, England. "Aged" means a baked sitka spruce top along with their aging process on the finish. It's very tasteful in my opinion. Not a heavy relic or anything but it nicely simulates age on a vintage instrument. I've tried to photograph to show the aging.

I've been very impressed by Atkin and this guitar in particular! It holds its own in the conversation of top builders like Collings, Bourgeois, SCGC, H&D, etc. It also holds its own against vintage models. With this guitar, you get the tone and feel of a vintage LG2 with modern building methods like a two-way truss rod. The previous owner also slotted the bridge and changed out the pins. Sounds amazing! And (minor detail) this is the coolest case I've ever owned!

Condition: "Aged" treatment (finish checking, light wear, aged hardware) see photos, a few marks from use: one light scratch on back that I first saw in direct sunlight when photographing it, mark on lower bout below fret board extension, bridge pins and endpin replaced by previous owner, some marks/scratches and one broken latch on case.

Atkin may be the most underrated boutique builder out there (or just unknown b/c they're across the pond) but these are excellent guitars with great tone. I owned an LG47 for a bit and I currently own their D18 model. I can't say enough good things about Atkin.

Good luck with the sale!

Agreed! I was fully prepared to be disappointed because of how much I had them built up in my mind but they have exceeded my expectations.

You’ve got some great guitars! All the best in your sales!

Just a quick plug for these guitars - I have owned a few Atkin models and they are fabulous instruments, and I think the LG47 is one of their best models. Great, underrated builder. GLWS!

Thanks! I’m glad others have been able to experience how good these Atkins are. My sights are set on a slope shoulder or it would be staying with me!

Just strung this up with d’addario nickel bronze and it is singing! Enjoying it while it’s still here! Thanks for the offers so far.

Did a search on the specs. This model has the standard narrower nut width and string spacing at the saddle ?

Yes, standard specs. 1 11/16” nut width. I’ll have to get out my ruler to get the exact string spacing.

Probably 2.2" spacing at the saddle mentioned in a TFOA ad I finally found. I have wide palms and play without picks and very little nail, so I really prefer the wider spacing at both the nut (1-13/16") and saddle (2-3/8"). At this point, after many guitars, it is what seems to suit me best.

Nice looking guitar and they sound great on-line. Where Atkins is a small shop I thought this one might possibly be a custom build.

Thanks for checking. Best of luck with your sale.

I have good pictures of it, but haven't sent pictures through the AGF system.

If this holds any interest to you, let me know and we can further this conversation, plus pictures sent to your email, AGF if I can understand their process. I've bought and sold quite a few guitars on eBay and Reverb, but not on AGF before. I'm 75 and am an analog guy in a digital world.

Thanks for the offer! I’ll PM you to follow up.

As the owner of one of these fine guitars, I will say I'm surprised this is still here. Anyone looking for a vintage Gibson LG-2 would be more than happy to own this guitar at a much nicer price and without the hassle and maintenance a vintage guitar brings with it.

Best luck with sale, its a beaut.

This is an exceptional guitar and a hard find in the US. I don’t want to sound desperate, but I’m willing to sell it [emoji16] My Waterloo fills the same space in my collection or I’d find a way to justify keeping it!

Man, I love every guitar you have listed….I’ll bet this one sounds incredible…probably a fantastic bluesy/folk guitar. I’ve heard only great things about the Atkins brand. Someone is gonna love it! Good luck
