Hey Brad, I would love that as well. And who knows? Maybe at the next BIG--whenever the world quits spinning backwards--we can facilitate a meeting? Vance, I am extremely interested in this upcoming performance! But, haha, I get first crack at this! Steve |

Entering the home stretch.
Here's the preparation of the bridge area, and the glued and clamped bridge. That LS redwood is looking better and better. So what's left? Neck attachment and adjustment, saddle and nut, tuners, strap button, string up and set up? I probably left out something. |

I've got a Breedlove Concert FS with redwood top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides (which I'm selling to help pay for this). It has a beautiful redwood top. The most beautiful redwood I'd ever seen, until now. This one is really special.

Redwood is becoming, if not has become, my favorite top material, this example does nothing to change that progression of thinking, beautiful!

Here's a big moment. The e-mail Steve sent me with this picture was entitled "Neck ON!". Wasn't there a comic book hero who said something like that when igniting a monstrous flame?
I learned that there is glue under the neck extension even though there is none in the joint with a bolted on neck like this one. Check the ziricote bridge, now that it's clearly visible, against the LS redwood top. The ziricote in the bridge and in the rosette also provide a nice counterpoint against each other. |

Haha! Prima nocta indeed. But more like Prima Septimana!
Hint taken, Dennis. We'll see what we can do. We're trying, Jamie. Speaking of going, I'd like to go back in time and buy all of Craig Carter's stash of LS redwood. But thankfully, that isn't the only good source of redwood available; just a very, very reliable one. Thank you sir, glad you like it! Quote:
At the time I wasn't sure it was all that. But it has proven itself over and again. (See my reply to Jamie!) |

Let's start small.
Here's the hand-fitted ebony pins. Each one is adjusted to fit perfectly in its respective hole, and helpfully marked for those occasions when all the strings come off. And here are said pins, each in their proper domicile. Also another good look at that gorgeous ziricote bridge against the LS redwood. The ziricote buttons were completed today. And definitely saving the best for last, here's the strung guitar. The ebony buttons are still on the tuners, because Steve was making those while Ryan set up the guitar. It looks OK from certain lights and angles, no? |

Much appreciated, Tom. Vance had expressed sympathy for the "less is more" design aesthetic, so this guitar is not overly fancy. But then the woods do a lot of talking without much need of embellishmment. I believe Vance made some very nice choices.
