Default No Emerald Content - DO NOT READ

Great tone, loud, comfortable, airplane friendly even in a standard TKL hard case, light as a feather, and conventionally beautiful! My favorite CF guitar of all time:

I guess I am a rabble-rouser: I read the post. Nice parlor, Jon. RainSong came out with their parlor about 5 minutes after I bought a Shorty; when I had a chance to play a RS Parlor, I was surprised that it sounded as good as the Shorty, maybe even a bit warmer. No idea how they pulled that off.

I'm not sure why there is some concern on this forum about any particular brand - there are plenty of good CF options out there, and as far as I can tell, all are welcome here. I think we can all appreciate good design and sound.

You're funny Jon. I'm not an Emerald guy either. I still want a traditional shape guitar. My Rainsong H DR1000 is my favorite guitar ever and it gets a lot of play. I gig regularly with mine and I couldn't be happier. I have a Rainsong Jumbo on my list of must have.
That being stated, I would try an Emerald if there was one close by , just because.
That's a sweet looking Rainsong you have there.

Beautiful Guitar, Jon, Enjoy!

As an aside, when I joined the MacNichol Carbon Guitar Forum, way back in 2008 or so, it seemed that Composite Acoustics was the only brand under discussion. There was absolutely--it seemed--no recognition of RainSong, until I started fanboying the RainSong brand.

Very nice guitar you have there !! The brand thing seems to go in waves, no loyalty to any one brand here. I'll take one of each please.

Well I have one - or more - of each major brand (Rainsong, CA, Blackbird, Emerald). Every brand has its strengths and weaknesses, and you just have to find the combination of sound and features that works best for you. One thing you can say about all CF guitars is that they are well built. You don't waste your time making cheap guitars out of expensive and superior materials.

I've played the Rainsong parlors several times in stores and was duly impressed with the sound.

Nice guitar, nice backdrop. I tend to subsidize Emerald, but like most people on this forum I have tried various brands and liked them all. My Rainsong parlor has staying power and it mixes well with my Emeralds. It's all good.

I helped my friend up in the dry mountains buy a beautiful mint condition RS Parlor right here through the agf classifieds. He loves it, and it’s perfect in the desert mountain environment.

It’s a fantastic guitar no matter what the weather. Everyone who knows good guitars and plays it for a bit goes through a similar routine - play a few bars, hold it away and look it over kind of curiously and say “hey, this is a great guitar”.

I love my APLE, also bought here through the classifieds. Rainsong makes great instruments, period.

Jon, that’s a nice looking guitar. Like the inlays on the fingerboard. I played the Al Petteway Limited Edition at one of the local store here. I was surprised by the playability and tone of the guitar. If not for I’d just gotten the X20 recently, i’d seriously consider the APLE.

I picked up the plaine-jane CH-PA for airline travel. If I am forced to gate-check it will be a lot safer than my poor old beat up Larrivee.
The 12-fret Rainsong is incredibly loud for it's size as well.

The Bridge on these newer Rainsongs isn't as dark as the older ones. I'd really prefer it to match the fretboard better. Any Ideas?

Rainsong are great guitars. The current midels are loud warm, balanced. My Rainsong dread H-DR1100 sounds like a5k Martin dread.

For a little more than half the cash, this one sounds pretty much the same:

I also have a shorty, but generally parlors, 00s, etc. have been my sweet spot. That is a lovely instrument.

It is one of LA Guitar Sales, not on the RainSong price list, often in stock, always on the website guitars: CO-PA1100NS.
