Well I asked and I am sure many wanted to get their money back, but it was already spent.... I was lucky to get my materials back. That is obviously behind my advice to people above.... $500 deposit and 25% when it starts... but paying anything more is really putting yourself in a financial hole if anything happens and with rare exception, there won't be any money to get back from the estate of the luthier or the luthier in the case of disability.

Harv is exceptionally good hearted to take it upon his shoulders to help clean up unfortunate messes that have been left behind... and I know that I am appreciative of it and I am sure the others are as well.

And by the way, that happened to me!

In deference to our excellent moderators, I believe I will post another thread in the Custom Shop wing about this issue. Please see it there.

I get what you are saying and I think it is something that people need to hear about... because I think it is a fair question to ask a builder "what assurances do I have that my deposit is secure in the case something happens to you" ...........

Anyway, look forward to your thread.

My Omega was at the wood only stage when Kevin passed. I had 50% in, but, although I am not made of money, I moved on. Andrew found my wood, and Ron Pinkham built an amazing guitar from it. I now have another friend for life in Ron. By the way, I had the top (great bearclaw in German spruce) done in french polish. It is amazing!!!

Keith asked that I continue to post pictures as I go along. Here is the rosette with some leaf inlays. Three kinds of shell to get a little contrast. Agoya, green rippled abalone, and green abalone.

Adding some ebony caps to the tip of the cutaway and to the heel

I had to do some mods to the original neck block to fit my system. I also like to glue in the front cross brace to the neck block to assure a good connection between the two.

Gluing the top braces.

Top is glued to the back and sides

The completed body.

May I ask if you left the high peaks on the soundboard bracing ?
