I was in Mike's shop about 2 weeks ago and saw that guitar sitting on the bench, very beautiful. Mike is a super cool guy, and a great guitar builder. I am also thinking of trying some double sides, very stable, plus the tulip wood on the inside is just neat looking.

Should be finished about beginning of Nov. Maybe on my birthday! I'm taking my strings and the PU to Mike next week so I'll get my first look.

man, that is coming along nice! I can't wait to see the end. What binding are you doing on that guitar? I love what mike does with his rosettes. He is very creative and definitely pushing the envelope!

Bindings are blackwood and satinwood. I sure love his woodwork. But the sound...Ahhhhh! ;-)

I visited Mike's shop to take him the PU and a set of my strings. This was my first in-person look at things. I swore that I wouldn't be bugging him about the progress, etc. so I've stayed away.

The box is now closed, and I think that he was going to put the bindings on after I left. It truly is a beauty so far. The headstock plate is beautiful. And I love the detail of the tuner buttons. The sound is by far the most important thing to me, but it sure is going to look great too!

Sorry, I forgot to take pictures (ducking!)

Jenn

Thankfully, since I'm a dork and forgot to take pictures yesterday, Mike took some and sends these along! The last 11 pics on this page are from yesterday.

Looks beautiful Jenn. With you and Juston both showing builds this is almost as much fun as when Mike built my CX in 2008. Please keep up the posting!

Howdy,

Well, not too much. Mike has been real busy. Here are some pics that he sent this week.

Man I love the grain of those sides, especially towards the bottom. Great looking guitar...can't wait to see it under finish!

Heard from Mike just after I posted those pics. The woodwork is finished, assembly and spraying happens this coming week.

Yippee!
