Those chakta purflings are beautiful, they really add a classy look to the guitar.
I agree Bill, I think especially from a distance they tie things together nicely. My first Beneteau that I had to sell years ago had snakewood bindings with the Chakta purflings and it's a great look with a darker back/side choice like rosewood or ABW.

Sorry but I’m not familiar with chakta bindings. Can someone explain? By the way, the guitar looks fabulous!

I did some research and didn't find much, I had just asked for a light reddish wood to accent the snakewood. Have seen Marc also use bloodwood and cocobolo but they are a bit less neutral than Chatka so im glad with his choice.

Neck is on...bridge in place. I'm officially at the edge of my seat...she finally resembles a guitar!

Smile Beneteau

That is going to be an amazing guitar! Congrats Dustin. I know how it feels to be close to the finish line on such a highly anticipated custom build; my Kraut 00 should be done in a few weeks. I love Marc's guitars. His aesthetics have always been beautiful in an understated way, and the new rosette you two came up with is no exception. When I order my next Beneteau, I want that rosette!

Congrats again, and I can't wait to see and hear you play the finished guitar!

Man Dustin, that is one sweet looking guitar! I can almost hear the rumble from here. Some years ago I had a Nick Lucas from Marc (photo album) and for a small body it truly roared. Can't wait to hear yours!

Looks great and gonna sound great I’m sure. Have you decided which string gauge is you might use on this?

Thank you man! I cant wait either...I have an idea how it will sound...but I have the feeling that expectations will be exceeded just like they were when the SJ arrived.

I will likely just keep lights with a 0.13 like I always have...my 25.75" scale SJ loves that setup even down to A. Maybe true-mediums if needed
