Default Incoming: Collings CJ-45T now that they have been released into the wild

Finally broke down and ordered a CJ-45T. I’ve been drooling over them ever since they were announced...and now that they are shipping resistance was futile. They are still very hard to find in the wild. But CME gave me a decent deal on a preorder. Should arrive late this month or early May. Once I get it I’ll have to decide if I’m keeping it or my 2017 D1AT. Not rich enough to own both, especially since I have Jimmy Edmonds building me a D-18 that should arrive this summer. I’ve already got two eager buyers in line to snag my D1AT should I decide to let it go. Decisions, decisions...

Here are some stock pics from Collings’ website. And a vid of Bob Minner playing his far better that I’ll ever play mine. He’s got something called talent. I gotta get me some of that.

Oh no you didn't!

That guitar sounds awesome. I hope I don't break down like you, considering I just bought my 3rd Merrill and need to sell 1 or 2 myself now.

I see the Bourgeois is no longer in your sig...

Yep...sold it today. Trying to stay at two guitars - the Edmonds and either the D1AT or CJ-45T. The Bourgeois was going to go one way or the other to make room for the Edmonds.

You're going to have a dilemma - the D1AT or the CJ-45T. Looking forward to your review and which one you keep... and Congrats!

Jealous you are getting one of these! For a number of years, my dream guitar has been a CJ35, but that's never going to happen with the price of Collings in the UK now - and these will be even more prohibitively expensive.

However, what I am not jealous about is having to decide between two Collings to keep only one. Good luck!!

That’s a beauty Roy! Of all the guitars that have come and gone I have but 1 regret. And that’s selling my Collings CJ. I hope you love this one, it’s a special guitar.

If I could handle a big guitar, this would be the one that I would go for. Exquisite tone. I look forward to your report. Congrats and I hope that it exceeds your expectations!
Best,
Jayne

Congrats again Roy! Stellar choice in a slope shoulder dread...or any dread for that matter? Looking forward to your NGD! That's one of the sweetest sounding guitars ever! Enjoy it my friend...when it arrives!

Wow that's drool worthy. I'd love one of those.
