Marc makes such amazing instruments. I'm loving watching this one come together!

My Beneteau 0-12 (sitka/'hog) arrived. Wow. I'm really impressed. It's early to draw conclusions, but I think I'm going to love the D-shaped neck. It already feels very comfortable and quite natural. My other necks are thicker and more C- or V-shaped.

Thank you, Dustin, for gushing about his work. I would have likely missed this special guitar had you not!

Congrats Eddie! You'll have to post a review and pics once you get acquainted.

I can’t wait to play it! He finished the top braces yesterday and sent me photos, will post soon

I like the D shape as well, it feels “natural” as you said, very flexible for stretchy chords and I don’t tend to ever think about the way it feels or notice it. Which is probably the goal of the profile, to be transparent to the playing experience!

Dustin, Congrats on this upcoming build and I'm sure it is going to be stellar. Can't wait to hear what you do with it and how it helps you compose music with the natural reverb you will get using African Blackwood b/s. I'm staying tuned, should be interesting...

I sure miss having an ABW guitar around. We're getting close!

The box is closed! We are now designing the segmented back strip which I cant wait to share!

Laskin bevel outline before laying in the body bindings.

He was also nice enough to bound the soundport this time.

This thing looks like it's going to be a beast! Overtones will bloom and almost burst. Pluck a string and hold on for dear life.

I'm gonna be devastated (in the best way) when he sends me the photo of it with the Snakewood bindings.

*A moment of applause*

These subtle, modern touches Marc is doing for this build and the ones he is bringing to La Connor have me floored! Beautiful but simple Snakewood backstrip with maple purfling.

And a bevel-assembly process photo. The bevel veneer will be Snakewood as well to match the body bindings.

I love the floating backstrip. Looks so elegant.

But I'd really be concerned about those bevel push pins staying in place when you play it. ;-)
