I use the Adobe Lightroom subscription, $10 per month. They are good about updating their software to work with pretty much any raw format.

Figured out a half way decent work flow with the Sigma. This camera is slow and clunky, but when you use it for what's intended, the results are pretty amazing. Still fooling around but, here are some I shot today:

Ah yes, the Foveon magic is on view there. Not to mention that Sigma knows how to craft a lens.

Lovely, Rob.

I’d love to hear what you came up with for a workflow - feel free to PM me if you think it’s not appropriate to post it here.

I don't think it's a big deal. I forgot about the Camera Raw filter in Photoshop. So, if you use the plugin to import the x3fs and then use the Camera Raw filter, it's basically the same as importing as raw. I want to get all I can from these 50+ MB files and I feel I do now.

Cool - glad you found a way! I'm grappling with Sigma PhotoPro, and exporting TIFFs to further refine in Affinity Photo. I refuse to use Adobe products for reasons we don't have to go into here

You know they're coming out with a Foveon full frame model in a year or two? My Sony a7iii is amazing, and I can shoot in any conditions with it. This Merrill only works for static subjects in decent light. But, in those conditions, it might be better than the Sony with my best lens.

If they actually make a Foveon full frame with decent autofocus that's much better in low light, I might have to try that out.

Very nice!

Yeah, I got a copy of one of the last standalone versions off eBay a couple years ago of Photoshop. I think it's not an approved copy... it was kind of cheap, but I thought it was because they were Adobe was releasing their new versions. But, I don't think it updates which is why I couldn't import the raw the usual way.

I'd seriously consider it as well. Lots of speculation about it right now on the photo interwebs.

Understood. I am not a fan of subscription software for the consumer market - and I work for a hugely successful company that thrives on, and relies on, the subscription model for our 6000+ customers.
